Fiji and PNG featured in the finals of both the men's and women's rugby league 9's events at the Pacific Games 2019 held in a rainy Apia Sports Stadium, Samoa. The competition was played over two days with the group stages on day one and placing games played on day two.

The women's final was only settled with the final play of the game when Fiji intercepted to score the winning try in their 16 - 4 victory.

Cook Islands defeated Samoa in the bronze medal game and Niue overcame Solomon Islands to decide fifth and sixth places.
