AMERICAS RUGBY LEAGUE LAUNCH OFFICIAL STREAMING SERVICE

The inaugural Americas Rugby League Nines Tournament was  used to launch the Facebook platform.

The new streaming platform will eventually become known as the home for Rugby League games across the Americas developing nations. Toronto Wolfpack archived games are already available as well as international games from several Americas countries.

This year, the platform will feature LIVE streaming for Jamaica versus USA in Kingston on June 22 along with a number of the USARL club competition games, NORTH v SOUTH and club final games.

Laura Judd, Marketing Director for USARL has been instrumental in organizing the Americas countries to get behind the idea, "The Americas Rugby League Facebook page is a chance for our associations to work together and build a collective fan base to grow the game of rugby league in the region."

Rugby League World Cup bound and new Americas Championship winners Jamaica was also keen to get behind the America's Streaming platform, "Jamaica is happy to see the creation of the America’s RL page. It will certainly help to drive interest in our sport and it’s clear that there is fantastic work being done to improve and increase the range of rugby league content in the America’s . We all take our sport seriously and invest quite a great deal of time and money to grow and promote the game, this is one more step in the right direction."

Jeff Hagan, Toronto Wolfpack's broadcast supervisor praised the launch of the platform, "Toronto Wolfpack are excited to continue supporting the development of Rugby throughout the Americas and will be supplying our content to this new Facebook channel. We are committed to growing our game globally and firmly believe the world is a better place with more rugby balls in kids’ hands."

"Although current broadcast contracts constrain worldwide release of our Betfred Championship games, we will share both our content and the content of others as widely as possible. This is consistent with our overall mission to share this fabulous game and to inspire people around the world" said Hagan.
