The Rugby League International Federation is saddened to hear of the passing of Peni Musunamasi, the Executive Chairman of Fiji Rugby League and sends deepest condolences to his family, friends and the members of Fiji Rugby League.
Peni has been a very influential in the growth and development of rugby league in the Pacific region having served on the board of the RLIF when it re-constituted in 2011, helped to establish the Asia Pacific Rugby League Confederation and served his beloved Fiji Rugby League.
RLIF Chair, Graeme Thompson commented
“It is sad to hear that Peni has died. He was a a great supporter of rugby league and in particular of Fiji Rugby League and the game across the Pacific region. Our discussions were always enhanced by the passion and experience that Peni brought to them and he will be greatly missed.
“On behalf of the RLIF Board and the whole membership, we send our deepest sympathy to Peni’s family, friends and the whole rugby league community in Fiji."
