Chairman thanks RLIF volunteers and staff for 2017 efforts

"As 2017 comes to a close we can reflect upon another year of growth for international rugby league. The highlight has been the highly competitive and colourful World Cup held in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea with Australia taking both the men’s and women’s competition. We should also mark the success of France in organising and winning the wheelchair competition."

"We have welcomed new members from around the globe and up-graded the membership of others. More nations than ever before have taken part in more international matches and there have been thrilling games in an ever growing number of domestic competitions. Our confederation in both hemispheres continue to provide technical and governance support to increasing numbers of members who, in turn, are taking great responsibilities."

"It is appropriate, on behalf of the whole board,  to thank our many players, coaches, match officials, volunteers, staff, partners and fans for their support and efforts in 2017 and to wish each and every one good the best for 2018."
